Alex: Natürlich, was denkst du denn?

Dmitri: Kaffee

Denis: Kaffee.

Alex: Ich trinke Wasser.

Bist du straight edge?

Alex: Nicht wirklich.

Alex: Heute ist was lustiges passiert.

What do you see for yourself in the future as a band? Do you think that you still will make some music in five or ten years like Korn?

Alex: We shell try it.

Because sometimes other things like family and work can take some time.

Alex: I don't know because I don't have children. So I don't know how much time it takes to be together with a son or so. I will always try to find some time for the band. I'm married and my wife supports me. Everyone in our band has his own life. I don't think that I will put a cross on the band when I have children. When it would be hard to go on tour, maybe then. But we will try everything to record music, we should only stop when we don't have any ideas anymore. Like a band which records an album just to earn money, but we don't any coin from our music so it is not our goal to earn money, it is more for our souls. We get some money from iTunes, GooglePlay and selling some merchandise. But the most money comes from our jobs and families.

So you would go crazy if any huge records label like Warner or Roadrunner Records would sign you?

Alex: Of course. We are ready to roll.

Even if you would have that cycle of touring and recording?

Alex: Of course woe would try. Why not?

To come to an end I always ask some random questions. Do you drink tea or cafe in the morning.

Dmitri: Cafe

Denis: Cafe

Alex: I drink water.

Are you straight edge?

Alex: Not really, but I don't drink alcohol, I don't smoke marijuana and cigarettes for about five years. But I like to drink water or milk.

Dmitri: He wakes up in the evening. He doesn't have mornings.

Alex: A wake up at 3 pm so... but I don't like cafe and I hate tea. But it doesn't matter.

Do like cats or dogs.

Alex: Dogs.

Denis: Cats of course.

Alexel: Dogs.

Dmitri: Cats.

Arthur: Cats.

Do you sing under the shower.

Alex: I don't sing under the shower.

Arthur: Me nether.

I guess your neighbors would go mad if you would sing or shout.

Alex: Today something funny happened. When we were driving through Germany the customs stopped us. And checked our car and after that we gave them our new album. One girl from the customs asked us who is singing and she was impressed by his vocals.

Do you have any rules on the tour bus? Like no alcohol during a ride or some sort of things?

Alex: No. Everyone of us understands that he should be fit before the show. Afterwards everyone is getting drunk really bad.

… and you drink a lot of milk.

The band members: Monster.

Alex: I drink a lot of Monster Energy and I don't like beer.

I've never seen this beer? Berliner Molle, how is it?

Dmitri: It is good.

Alex: After Russian beer, every German beer is really good. Russian beer tastes like piss... the best one.

That sounds gross. So thank you for the time and the interview.

Alex: Thank you very much. But wait a minute, we will give you a present.

Would you think that if anybody in Russia would have the option to consume mass media like Youtube or Facebook? I know that you guys have vk.com.

Alex: The most Russian people don't use Facebook because they don't speak English. Most Russians don't need Facebook, they don't have to communicate with people from other countries. Russia is not really closed, but it is not very interesting for them to go abroad and see how the German people live. They don't mind it, they would like to go to Turkey and drink beer and shit and lay on the beach, that's it. It is not interesting for the Russians to communicate with other people and see how they live in other countries. Like a close mind. If Russian people would go to Germany they would see that most of the things here are good. Like good beer. It is not cool to see how the people live in my country. It seems like it is better for them to stay in Russia and drink vodka.

Are you a political band or you texts free of any political statement. Because we here in Germany learn and get taught by the mass media that Putin is bad and all that stuff. That Putin has his trolls in the internet and they are telling everybody who's good and who's bad in Europe. What do you guys think about it? What kind of stories do you get over there?

Alex: I'll tell you, listen. First: all the European people are gay. (everyone's laughing) You are not European people, you are gayropean people. This is how most people in Russia call Europeans. Most people in Russia watch TV and they believe what they see there. After the Crimea, after the Ukrainian war Russians are really aggressive against European people, Americans and of course against Ukrainian people. In our country a lot of people have relatives in Ukraine and this is a really bad situation. One of my friends brother doesn't communicate with his other brother in Ukraine because of politics. This politic is bad and it is really strong.

In Germany we have some people who believe that the mass media people get told what they have to tell and write about Putin and Russia. That they are bad and some sort of things.

Alex: I think it is almost the same in Russia. But as I know, right winged people from Europe are supporting Putins politics and this is awe full. So, mass media works and our country spends a lot of money for the mass media. So the people think in the right way that our (the Russian) government would like them to think. If you have an open mind you wont think what the government and the mass media tells you to think.

So, how do you get your texts and messages together for the songs you write?

Alex: The lyrics? Well, Arthur's English isn't that good. As for me, the lyrics for the last album were written by myself. They don't mean that much to me. I am more into the music so I think the important thing is the music that we play. And the texts? Well, I take the lyrics from Thy Art Is Murder and other bands which are good and I mix them together.

So he doesn't know what he's singing about?

Alex: He knows it. He understands everything but it is hard for him to speak. He has not that kind of practice. Some of our lyrics are written by him, but I don't actually know what was going on in his mind while he was writing these lines.

Maybe you can ask him? They translate everything and a discussion is going on between Alex, Denis and Arthur.

Alex: He writes about everything he hates. He hates really fat girls but I didn't know about this.

I've seen that you only six string guitars. Behead The Broken Queen plays on eight strings.

Alex: We don't have enough money to buy eight string guitars. But I think, for me, six strings are enough. I can play everything on six strings but we use eight sting sets on our six string guitars.

What kind of tuning are you playing?

Alex: A# In Russia we have a band which is named #####, so we call them five DS. So we call them пять [pyat'] DS. At the moment we are on tour with another Russian band from Moscow.

So you are from the biggest cities in Russia?

Alex: There are 6 million people living in St. Petersburg and in Moscow we have round about 13 million people.

How big is the metal community in Russia, what do you think?

Alex: We have a strong core community in Russia. Metal and core is seen separated in Russia. The core people think that metal people are listening to old and shitty music... and that they smell bad. In general it is metal and when we are in Germany or any other European country, we see metal and core guys moshing together and that is good. In Russia it is different but I don't know why. In vk.com we have some communities in which are all the core people. They communicate with each other in these groups but that's it. I guess that's why it is so separated in Russia.
